“Aghateet”:- My first Short Film

Technology, books and movies are my passion; movie making was more developed as a hobby latter in the time line .

Well making movie is very interesting and combination of people and technical activities which has its own unique challenges. So with cpl of friends Mahesh and atul on same interest we planned to work on one short movie which will be one room drama with minimum actors to reduce multi locations and multi ppl complexity, we seeded and developed one room thriller story of two brothers, appasaheb and balasaheb . After discussing for many days on lunch break with atul during my Symantec days and with Mahesh over the weekends and as and when possible , atul finally came up with final draft of script, it turned out to be good and as per expectations with minor logical loop holes in story and we decided to keep those as it is.

While working on script we had planned other making activities in parallel as to build technical team (?) and to have actors and is very important ingredient, we planned few auditions in pune and found actors as per our requirements reasonably good. Visited different related ppl to collect properties and for camera, lights and other stuff required…initially we thought we will be few ppl on location and shooting the film but on the day we exceeded more than 25 ppl.

Shooting Day:

Well it all had started to learn movie making process with minimum risk and investment, myself and atul started early in the morning in our cars separately to pick up properties; while driving to location atul got phone call on personal urgency and he had to left to address it for rest of morning session, meanwhile Mahesh collected furniture properties required from Girish T.’s home, it was very heavy and I can imagine the efforts they must have put to move it to locations.
Call timing was at 10 am and we slowly started gathering there. Trolley, lights, camera actors everything and we expected to take first shot by 11.00...ahaa and there you are; After blocking natural lights with black sheets and actors make up we were ready to take first shot on trolley by 2 PM. But we were too hungry for it and I and Mahesh managed to get food for entire crew.
By this time one of my friend madhu latane who had agreed to play role of appasaheb had time constraint and had to leave, thanks god atul came and he played the appasheab finally. Professional killer’s role played by sanjeev chandane one of my frind…so finally we finished with our first shot (scene) by 5 pm.
